A round of applause and pats on the back for the OCM Board! What a cool, diverse, and industrious-looking group; excited and ready to work. The OCM Board will hold closed meetings and stream them to the public via website, at least until January 15. Transcripts will be made available on the site, as well as information regarding future meetings to be held.

There was an approved appointment of Chief Equity Officer, which went to Jason Starr.

Further awesome, the Board put some changes to the NY medical cannabis program INTO EFFECT IMMEDIATELY.

Medical patients (like Highness) can now have a 60-day supply and whole flower, Yay!

Medical practitioners who are licensed to give prescriptions can now prescribe medical cannabis, as they see fit.

Caregivers (like me, Kong) will now have a permanently waived fee for registration.

A big thing we were hoping to see, but in some ways is understandable to not be in place yet, is legislation and guidance for medical home cultivation. It seems the OCM is working on that as quickly as possible, and hinted that more development will be available, potentially, as soon as the next meeting.

Public education also seems to be a pressing program to the board.

Cannabis.ny.gov is live, as it has been, with ever-developing content. Persons can now sign up on this website to receive updates and information about the Office of Cannabis Management.
